Opening of the ENB new building on City Island

English National Ballet and English National Ballet School are moving together to a new world-class home at London City Island. This transformational move will give unprecedented space to develop world-class artists and create outstanding ballets.

The new building has seven full-sized rehearsal studios as well as a five-storey, state-of-the-art production studio with a fly tower allowing for productions to be rehearsed with full set and lighting.

Some studios have been named after artists who have been an important part of ENB and others after supporters of the capital campaign: Nureyev Studio (supported by the Rudolf Nureyev Foundation), Grey Studio, Hynd Studio, Linden Studio, the Markova / Dolin Studio, Wall Studio and Weston Studio. Wood for the feature staircase and all seven dance studios was donated by Worktop Express.

The first productions to be rehearsed in the new building include the return of Akram Khan’s Giselle, Christopher Wheeldon’s Cinderella and Le Corsaire before performances this autumn.

The new building on London City Island will open to the public on September 12th.
